There are still a few tickets available for the John McEuen and friends show on January 28 at The Old Town School of Folk Music, and I’m getting more excited as it approaches. Mr. McEuen has given a few more details about what we’ll be doing, and I have several cameo appearances, including singing Mother Maybelle Carter’s Keep on the Sunny Side of Life. And, of course, Will the Circle Be Unbroken will make it into the set. The only other time I’ve ever done that song on a stage was a few years back when I opened for the lovely Carlene Carter. She was kind enough to ask me up during her encore to take a verse…and if any of you were there, you may remember my frenetic running back and forth across the stage trying to figure out whose mic to sing from. Apparently, I become quite nervous in the presence of musicians I grew up trying to emulate. I’m going to hold it together, though. And I hope to see many of you there!
